    PA,

I'm trying to remember how waterbuffalo meat taste. It's been over 26 years since I had it. Aww....I remember now. It's actually really good. It's a darker meat than beef if memory served me right. Not sure what other meat to compare it to. Never had bison meat so not quite sure how the two would compare.

Are you thinking about waterbuffalo hunting somewhere?

yes, I am. In Florida, a ranch down there is said to have some awesome bulls.
But to me the meat is a big issue. If I don't eat it I don't kill it, that's just my own ethic.
Bison meat is superb! I've killed a couple of them over the years with bow and gun. The freezer will be near empty by mid fall and it is time to stock up on red meat other than venison.
I eat what I kill, my wife thinks we'll be growing horns soon!

    Pa Ridge Runner,
Have you gone yet on your water buffalo hunt??? Yes, I have tasted water buffalo meat and they are good eating. The best yet if you can persuade the rancher is to have some of the water buffalo milk. That is the best tasting milk I ever had. It is a very rich, creamy milk & the flavor is deep & pleasurable . Ask the rancher for a bottle & try it. You probably have your hunting done & over with by now since your
last post was back in May 12, '04. Anyways, if you have, post on how you found the taste on the meat, if it was good in your opinion or so-so.
    God Bless. larrysogla.

Jusr read an article today in Rifle Mag. Sept issue, by John Barsness. He took a water buffalo in Texas, and said the meet was very good, rather like beef.
