We all have a story to tell regarding our first fish. What is yours?

largemouth bass while bream fishing with wigglers. He was about 2 pounds ...My Mom still has the picture of me hanging in her living room. I think I was about 6 years old, wearing some swim trunks,no shirt and had my Rapala fillet knife in the sheath stuck in my waistband...Looked like a true river rat!!!!!!!!

a 6lb rainbow out of the bighorn river in montana. i was 5 years old, and my dad tied on the ugliest lure he could find, so he knew he wouldnt miss it when i got snagged. first cast i hung a 6lber, and he couldnt believe it. he also still has a picture of me holding that thing in his office. also....same day, we were on an island where the river split, my dad decided to take a nap. i had a rooster tail on and found that it didnt cast well, so i put on 10 split shots right at the knot. i ended hooking up a 4lb brown trout. i woke my dad up with a fish flopping right next to him. good times. i owe my pops a beer for that ugly lure. that was my biggest wild rainbow until about 3 years ago...

Caught 2 little Smallmouth within about 5 min. of each other when I was about 6 or 7, Bill Dance couldn't have talked to me at that moment.
I have finally come to the conclusion that if I can keep my nose to the grindstone, and work as hard as I can, I can remain poor the rest of my life.

I was about 9 yrs. old and I was fishing Mono Debris Dam above Santa Barbara in the LPNF. I hooked up with a 1/2 lb rainbow on a trout jig thing. Awesome place.
