I am thinking about getting an 870 super mag all camo this spring for turkey. It has the double beeded 23 inch barrel. The question i have is that will this gun be adequate for waterfowl hunting also. I know it will perform excellent in the turkey woods, but i am also a huge goose hunter. I am not worried about having a longer barrel that may SWING better on flying game, i am just wondering if it will perform well in field hunting situations. Thanks
You bet it will. I have been shooting a 24 inch for years. Extra full lead choke for turkey and either full steel or mod. steel for waterfowl. The only advantage I have found with longer barrels is a longer sight plane. If you can swing a 23 ok I would not hesatate for a second to buy one.![]()
good luck
