will 17 hmr drop in's, will it work in model 60

Don't get mad at me but I just have this little knowledge thingy?

Will a 17 hmr drop in barrel fi in a Marlin Model 60? And would this contraption ever work. I've read that the ruger would be more suitable but this is the only rifle that i have and will probably ever have due to our licensing laws.
