Welcome to the new CDA forum.

Please let us know who you are and where you like to hunt.

My name is Jesse and I hunt D14 and the X zones with a bow. Best buck is out of D14 so far, a decent 3x3.

My name is Ed F from Lake Mathews. I have bowhunted deer in Ca for the past 18 years, from the Oregon border to the deserts near Blythe. I have taken CBH record book mule deer, blacktail deer and pacific hybrid deer in Ca. I hunt A-31 and apply for special hunts every year. I am interested in the CDA and am going to try and make the San Bernardino banquet.

I live, hunt and guide in the "A" zone. Haven't made a dinner yet, hope to this year. Wouldn't mind having a brew with the guys in Gilroy and shooting the breeze. What bar do they meet at?

Hey my name is Kurt and hunt D-14 and the X zones. Have been hunting d-14 for 22 years with my dad and have been sucessful every year in that zone except the 2002 fire closure. Hope to understand the CDA a little better to see if I like their ideas and hope the politics are not a relm of the assosiation. May try to attend a meeting or two.

Hunt C zone and A zone when I don't get X7a. Mostly rifle hunt, but I just got a bow and will be hunting the above zones during archery season.

Hi Folks, I am Dave. I have been a CDA member for about 3 years now. I have not attended any of their functions but I like the work they do.

I lease 7,000 acres of property in the X3A zone so of course I apply for that every year. Lately, I have been hunting the G-1 hunt and GR property up by Covelo.

Speaking of the work CDA does, I just sent in a project application. I am in the process of "rejuvenating" my X3A property. I am removing thousands of acres of Junipers, replanting grasses and browse, establishing new water sources and re-establishing old ones that the Junipers have dried up, fence work and a bunch of other projects down the road. I am hoping CDA can give me some assistance on the project. We will see.

Cahunter, drop me a line when you know they are meeting at your bar. I will try to join in. I live in Oakland. Problem is, I am hardly ever at home. But, maybe I might get lucky.

My name is Brian, I have been out of the game for awhile now but getting
back into it. I have hunted X-12 most of the time before there was the
lottery, and about 5 times when it started. I know that zone real well and hope to get that tag this year. If not maybe D-6.

When they have there meeting its all private and then they usually leave after but I could see if they want to have some sort of meeting there where they could pass out information on the CDA. I know there dinner is coming up, I hear its good one.

If you have 7000 acres shouldn't you be able to get a land owner tag, especailly if you are making all those improvements. Thats the least F&G could do for you.

Oh and I work at the Golden Oak resturant in morgan Hill, CA.

First I heard of CDA. Looks like an interesting and rewarding opportunity to get involved.

Anyone have suggestions on where I may be able to put my 14 year old on his first buck this season? He has a J13 tag and he only saw doe's last season.

I to am planning on joining the local CDA group. I bought a couple of raffle tickets for a rifle last month and won the dang thing. A 44 Mag Henry Big Boy Level action. Real nice looking weapon.

I've been a CDA member for 2-3 years. I hunt public land in the A zone(south), and either D-8 or D-13.
I was lucky enough to get a G-6 Tag in 2004 (late season D-8). I apply for multiple out of state hunts and was fortunate to get Wyoming and Nevada in 2005.
Speaking of being lucky, I won a mini 14 at the CDA Dinner in Lake Isabella in 2004, and a Remington 700 at the Bakersfield CDA dinner in 2005. Another hunting partner won a shotgun. The third hunting partner in our group has yet to win the big one, but he's won about 5 pair of bino buddies so far (not that there's anything wrong with that!)

Water is a major limiting factor for wildlife here in the Taft Area. Our local sportsman's club usually repairs a guzzler each year in conjunction with the Dept of Fish and Game, but we sure could use some help from the CDA to increase our local efforts! Any Ideas?

You bet owtdors, contact that same CDA chapter where you guys got all the loot and see what they have going on for projects. I am sure they would welcome your support. You can also put together a project w/friends, make it on public land, and ask for CDA funding. See project apps/etc. at Caldeer.com
