Not big, ( This topic has got to start some where) but a good kill. Both make me very happy and better fed!
Two holes are always better than one!
This nice little eight pointer was taken in Winnebago Co. on 11/26/03 (Gun hunting)

Just a little doe.

this is not my best but it was good enough for the last saturday of gun season. both brow tines were broken off. it is shown by a young hunting buddy of mine. next year she gets to start hunting.
Here is a dandy buck that I arrowed the 3rd day of the Wisconsin Archery season. Hope that the picture turns out - this is my first post with photos. I also have a great picture of this deer in velvet on August 30, 2003. If this picture turns out I will post the other picture too.
OK here is the same buck in Velvet. What a hansom and proud buck
I would never have hunted this spot if I had not seen this on my deer cam.
Congrats, Capted...........a fine buck indeed!!![]()

Got this bad boy with one shot at a range of 300 yards with my 30-06. It grossed 176 B&C points and is a 12-pointer. I think it field dressed at about 250 lb. My biggest buck to date and taken in Wisconsin. Very symmetrical. I had hunted this buck for the 2 seasons prior and and never seen it prior to me shooting it. I just went by the info my hunting partners told me about a large, high-tined buck in the area. Persistence and letting numerous smaller bucks go by paid off. My heart rate probably tripled when I first saw the buck about 5 minutes prior to him getting in a good position for a shot. If you can't get excited about seeing a big buck, I guess you shouldn't be out there. I'm glad I had the 5 minutes of time to calm down and get steady for the shot. Ran 20 yards and dropped dead.
2nd picture is the same deer plus a 145 gross B&C 10-pointer taken 9 years prior both hanging on my trophy wall. I am a good shot and a good hunter, but luck plays so much a part in getting big boys like these.

Well, for some reason the pictures weren't showing up when I looked at this at work, so I'm posting them directly. This is a picture of my 12 point 176 gross B&C buck I got in Wisconsin.
Here's the 2nd picture with the same deer on the left and the 10 point 145 gross B&C buck I got in Wisconsin some 9 years earlier.
My 2002 Gun Season buck. 9-point, large bodied buck. (I'm 6'2" and over 300 pounds, so the deer sometimes look small next to me.)
Here's my brother's 2003 Gun Season buck.
I had seen this buck once while bowhunting on the county land adjacent to our land. It was a real secluded, almost hidden, house sized, sinkhole in the middle of a large 6-7 year old clearcut.
I convinced him to go back with me to that spot during the middle of the gun season, and he shot the buck with 1 shot less than 30 seconds after I started pushing to him.
Largest 6 point my group has ever taken.
My 2004 Gun Season buck. Got him day 4, during a drive. (Same stand as the 2002 buck above)
Didn't notice the broken G-3 on the right side, until after he was down. Otherwise, probably would have given him 1 more year. Nice fat deer though. He had a lot of fresh bark in his antlers from rubbing, and he had a 6-7 inch long white patch across his chest, between his legs. (not a throat patch)
Here are a few of my Wisconsin bucks. Most of these were taken in S.E. Wisconsin.
Opening weekend bow kill. I watched this guy all summer then moved in for the kill
and shot him 1 hour into the 1st day I hunted.
Here is a nice buck that I had a few run ins with. I finally got him with a shotgun on thanksgiving day.
Here is an 8 point I arrowed near Holy hill in Washington Co. during a massive thunder storm with heavy wind and rain. I didn't wussy out.

Here is my son Dan Jr with his 1st bow kill at 12 years old.
I arrowed this mutant opening day, after watching him all summer from a distance.
Shotgun Thanksgiving day near Oconomowoc Wisconsin. I watched this buck all summer and fall never getting quite close enough with the bow. Ended up bellie crawling through canarie grass and water and ice up to the bucks bed and shot him at 10 yards in his bed.
