    Howdy,
Yesterday, I bought a CVA Hunter Bolt Mag. 209 with camo stock and fiber optic sights for $170. I like it a lot but I haven't shot it yet. Anyone know anything about this gun? Anyone have one?

    Thanks,

    Buddy

Hey, VA. I THINK it's the same as their older model MagBolt 150 upgraded with some different amenities. If so, I have a MagBolt150 and I liked it a lot. With a Simmons 3-9X it shot 1½-2" groups at 100 yards with sabots. Never tried the powerbelts with it though.

Picked one up on Friday after my last gun broke.

Took it to the range on Friday afternoon. shooting pretty good groups for 1st time out. 1st shot was on paper.

Got a doe with it last evening. hit right where I was aiming.

was using Triple 7 pellets (100 grain) w/ powerbelts 295 hollow points.

need to do some more fine tuning but real heppy w/ the gun.

cool, The only "problem" I had was the screws that came with the CVA scope mounts were too long for the muzzle side of the barrel for the mount. I know a gunsmith that took care of it for me for free and put a 3-9x40 Bushnell Sportsman ($60 at Wal-mart) and it's a little too big, not leaving much room for the fiber optic sights, but I would hardly use them. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I probably will this Saturday. I plan on using 100gr. Pyrodex powder and Powerbelt 295gr copper-clad hollow-points. Hope it works out. Thanks for ya'll's input. Seems to be a nice gun for the price. I'll let ya'll know how I do.

    Thanks,

    Buddy

EXCELLENT!!! I took the gun to the range and it took me 5 shots to get it zero-ed in on a gun that has never been fired/nor bore-sighted. It is an excellent shooting gun. I have NO complaints at all. I have soooo much confedence. THANKS CVA and BUSHNELL of coarse!!! LOL

    Congrat's on the new ML

I got the same gun for Christmas last year. Shooting 3/4" groups at 100 yards with 80 grains of 777 FFG and a 300 grain Hornady SST/ T/C Shockwave.

Funny you mentioned the five shots. I put my scope on at the range, first shot hit dead center one inch high I couldn't believe it! Guess we should have played the Va lottery that day, huh?
