With all the neat videos you guys are putting up on huntingfootage.com, I was wondering if anyone was interested in having a video contest?
If you are, let me know. Also, see the thread below:

I guess not.
I've got the camcorder and tons of good video I just need to upgrade or get a new computer to be able to edit the video for the Internet. This old puter is just too slow.
Working on new puter right now.
Anybody else have video for the contest?

Darren, what exactly did you have in mind?
How about some sort of recognition for the most downloaded clip on your site? :)

I bet you'd like that since one of your videos is currently the most popular!![]()
All kidding aside, Im not sure what the judging criteria would be. That's kinda why I was asking for input.
I know there's been a lot of success with the trail cam photo contests, so I thought there might be a similar interest with the videos. However, there's been virtually no response.
Darren
Well we have some clips I'd love to enter. For prizes - recognition/advertising would be great.
The number of downloads from your site is marketing - it depends on the quality of the picture and the title. It has nothing to do with the quality of the video (maybe just a little with good comments).
Maybe you should first define exactly what the criteria is for a great video clip?
1. camerawork - can you see what the cam is aiming at?
focus, lighting, shakey/steady
2. Hunter - did the hunter execute?
make a good shot? or pass a marginal shot? or pass a small buck?
3. Animal - did he do something significant?
make a scrape, fight with another buck, whatever?
Just thoughts

Are you still interested in a contest? I'd love to be of some help. Got any ideas yet?

I didn't get much of a response. We could do like Jesse...judge based on votes. HuntingFootage.com is already setup for votes.
Sounds good to me count me in.

Below is a link to Jesse's rules for the Game Camera photo contest. If Jesse doesn't mind, we could use it as a model for the video contest.
However, no one is going to participate unless there are rewards! I am donating one Extreme Shot Outdoorsman Package, however, Im guessing we'll need at least 2 more prizes (one for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place). I would like to see several prizes like in the gamecamera contest.
Until we get some more donations, Im not sure it's worth doing. What do you think?
