How about some short introductions?

Where are you from & where do you hunt the most?

Who got you started hunting and when?

What is your favorite game to hunt?

Do you use a bow or firearm? What kind?

What is your dream hunt?

Hi Pinkarrow here from Alberta Canada.I do most of my hunting within 20 miles of my backdoor, having the privlidge of living in some of the best game areas in the province.I am 5 minutes away from our bow only zone and 10 minutes from rifle so I can take advantage of either depending on the season.Being raised as the only girl surrounded by 5 brothers, hunting has always been a way of live for me,but it was Hubbywho got me hooked on hunting when we moved west.I have been rifle hunting for 20 years and this will be my second year for bow hunting. As for a favorite animal to hunt I would have to say it is a toss-up between W-tail and Muledeer.I love the challenge of the W-tail but mulies are just plain fun!!

I live in NE Kansas. I hunt mostly around the area about 3 miles from my house. I started hunting birds, quail, dove and pheasant when I was a kid with my dad and brothers. I have been hunting whitetail the past 4 years. I enjoy hunting whitetail the most. The birds have dissappeared from these parts. I use a 30-06 to hunt the deer.

Where are you from and where do you hunt elk?
SW Wyoming we usually draw Pine Mtn. area tags. This year we drew cow tags for that area.

Do you use a bow or Rifle? What kind.
I am now learning to use a bow a Hoyt Raider. Seems to shoot fairly straight. And I usually hunt with a Rem. 30.06 with a muzzlebreak. I love that gun.

Who taught you how to hunt elk and when was your first elk hunting trip?
My husband took me on my first elk hunting trip about 10 years ago.

What is your dream elk hunt?
I love the area that we are in now, but I would love to go to Alaska to hunt.

It's been a long time since I stopped in here, been so busy the last few months it's unreal. But, things are slowing down a bit, for a while anyway...lol

Northern Ontario, Canada here. I started hunting small game when I was a kid. Now, with hubby and daughter, we hunt everything we can. We moved just about two years ago and now live where we can walk out our back gate and hunt almost any game that's around. We're headed south this spring for our first time turkey hunting (no such animal this far north), we're really looking forward to that trip.

Hubby and I also guide at a local camp for bear season. We prepare the baits, take the clients out in the field and prepare their game, from dragging it outa the bush to delivering it to the butcher. If they ask nice enough we may even tan the hide for them...:)

We all have bows, rifles and shotguns so we're pretty flexible. For big game I mostly use a Winchester Model 70 w/ Mauser 6.5x55 action. It's a real pretty rifle that has never let me down.

Our dream hunt..hmm. I guess that would have to be going to Alaska. Both hubby and I would love to go up there hunting, someday we will.

Hello all! I live in New Mexico and have been here since 1991, when my job transplanted me from California. I first started hunting mule deer (Ruger .270) with a friend I worked with and now I hunt deer, turkey, and elk/antelope when I can draw a tag. Mostly I hunt alone because, as others have noted, it's hard to find a hunting partner because they are usually male and people always assume there's "something else" going on...I'm a self-taught turkey hunter (Remington 870 12 ga.) and have been pretty successful with that. My dream hunt would be in Alaska; I want to hunt and fish there before I'm too old but for now I enjoy the beauty and challenges of New Mexico

Hi to all this is my first time here in the forum. I live in Northern California and hunt with my family. I like to hunt ducks, upland game and deer. My husband and I got married opening day of deer season 27 years ago. It about killed him to miss that day! He has been teased about it ever since. It's good to see so many women hunt and have a wonderful time at it. Good luck to all your hunting opportunities.

What a great site!
Hi! I'm Laura from Michigan. Hunting property consists of 200+ acres of hardwood, swamp, pines and crop fields.

Started hunting deer in 1972 when meat prices went up. Got hooked and hunted bow season, gun season and black powder season. Did squirrels, ducks and pheasants too.

I use a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 mag for deer, Baretta Silver Snipe O/U for small game, and Golden Eagle Evolution for bow season.

My dream hunt would be any trophy whitetail hunt anywhere although I enjoy putting any venison on the table. My husband and I go through 3 deer a year because our grown kids and parents love it too and we share.

My name is Jean. I live in San Jose, California. I hunt W.U. ranches mostly in central California. I am a pig hunter. So far, deer are smarter than I am. Most of the time the pigs are also smarter than I am. I started hunting about 1996 or so. Calibers I use to hunt are .270 weatherby, 30'06, 45-70 and 20 ga(for quail). I have sort of dragged my mate of thirty or so years into this. He's put up with me and my neandertal side pretty well. I have taken two pigs. The first was a guided hunt because I did not grow with hunting. It took a while to find a guide who was willing to take a woman who'd never hunted out for pig. The second was last year on a WU ranch. I have a picture of it but it's a little gorey.
We have an older f150 pinstriped by mountain mahogany, and an ancient, dinky little tent trailer referred to as the hilton.

Dirt and I have arguements about who is older...

Who got you started hunting and when?
I tagged along with an ex-boyfriend and got to the point that I was trying to tell him where and how to hunt on my property and he finally said, "Get your own tag then." So I did!

What is your favorite game to hunt?
Deer and then turkeys are a close second. Once I get to an elk hunt though, I think that will top the list?

Do you use a bow or firearm? What kind?
My bow is a Parker Challenger
My shotgun is a Remingtion 870 Express 20ga.
My rifle from my grandpa is apparently so old and valuable that really shouldn't be using it anymore. But I did get my first deer with it!

What is your dream hunt?

Still getting started on hunting. Will take my hunters education class in a few weeks.

I think I will like hunting birds, that is at least what I think I'll start with. We'll have to see after that.

I'm from Northern Michigan. I'm Director of Marketing for a hunting products company, and that's what got me interested in hunting and the outdoors.

Hello. My name is Peggy. I live in northwest Arizona. Just got back from hunting turkey around Williams, AZ and got a bobcat as well while we were there. My favorite hunting partner is my husband and sometimes our daughter (says she doesn't want to hunt anymore).

We hunt in the mountains around here, about 10 minutes away, for predator mostly. Have gotten deer and javelina here. Now we enjoy going east to north central AZ in the cooler forests to hunt whitetail, muledeer, elk, predators, and bear.

It took me a while to actually hunt with my husband. I was always just the camper/site-seer. Now I'm hooked and our living room is wall to wall with trophies of all kinds. I hunt with a Ruger 270 now, but started with a mini-14. I use a 17 caliber rifle when we are predator calling.

My dream hunt is anywhere my husband of 18 years and I can get away and enjoy the wildlife.

I'm brand new to hunting. My husband, lan-lord, took me on my first hunt at the beginning of October. We went in the Hill Country (Texas). I used a .270 caliber something or other with managed recoil, which made it less intimidating... so far i like hunting axis... cause they are YUMMY!

My name is Emma and I live in Clear Lake, just south of Houston.
