FRED HALL SHOW NEXT WEEK: The 57th annual Fred Hall Fishing Tackle and Boat Show, the unofficial kick-off to the Southern California fishing season, will be held Wednesday through Sunday next week at the Long Beach Convention Center. The show will feature a who's who of regional and national fishing celebrities giving seminars (over 400 over the five-day show). There will be over 50,000 fishing and boating items on display. The thing to do is get this week's edition of Western Outdoor News, a weekly sportsman's newspaper available at most sporting goods stores and newsstands, and pour through the special edition on the show so you can see who and what's there and when.

Two new things worth mentioning: The new Bass Zone will be a whole area dedicated to bass fishing, and the Jack O'Connor Legacy Tour will make a stop here, featuring all of the game heads and guns of this famous gun writer who immortalized the .270 Winchester.
