I was wondering if any of you guys used Sims Limbsavers on your recurves? I am pretty particular about bow quietness and used them for a couple of years on my compounds with unbelievable results. My new Super Kodiak is pretty quiet since I tuned it a bit and added some silencers but I always figured no bow was quiet enough. The only reason I haven't put a set of them on yet is I think they might take away from the look of the bow and I'm not all that crazy about putting something sticky on the limbs. Any suggestions or experience? I hope I'm not getting on you guy's nerves with all the questions!

Man, questions are what we thrive on.

I, like you, don't think a bow can ever be "quiet enough" but have never used the LimbSavers. I used the string leeches before with great results. I've thought about using some LS's on my longbow but just can't bring myself to put them on it (traditionalist ideals maybe???).

Do a search on them. I think I remember a topic about this subject a while back. I think...

If your bow is glass backed it won't be a problem getting the sticky off later. If it's a self bow, depending on the finish, it might be a problem.

If you're worried about the looks, the deer don't care and you could remove them when you shoot 3D or whatever.

They will, theoretically, add weight to the limb tips which would slow the bow down a bit and could need to be retuned. I doubt I could tell any performance difference myself. If you decide to give 'em a try use the smaller ones made for recurves and you should be pleased.

Good luck. Go ahead and give them a try and let us know what you think.

Tried the Limbsavers and was once again amazed by them. The recurve/accessories Limbsavers are pretty small but made a big impact on quietness. I've been shooting for about 14 years now and have never heard just my arrows in flight. Really makes you take notice about arrow quietness. Oh well, something else to contend with.

I use them and I love'um. They do make a difference. I also use their string leach silencers.

    Shoot straight, aim well,
