Does anyone know of a good quail spot in or near Lake Elsinore?
Try the Cleveland national forest on the other side of the lake
Its actually very very very tightcover in the Cleveland Nat forest. There are birds but very tough shooting and you need to be sure you can find em.

Mix the following........
one fairly well trained German Shorthair (aka Hallie the Hunter),
+ one hunter who misses 60% oh ok 70% of the shots (aka me),
+ one daughter who laughs hysterically at said hunter 70% of the time,
+ one new Britt pup to keep us on our toes.....
= one hell uva a GREAT time! Wouldn't trade it for anything!
I used to work on top of Saddleback Mtn. and drove backroads everyday. Very few areas I saw were huntable and walkable. Did I see quail? Yes.
You may have more luck in the part of Cleveland that gets into San D. County. More gradual rolling hills. The south OC part of Cleveland was mostly vertical. Gotta scout.

Hey wild hunter. I live in Lake Elsinore and hunt dove/quail in the Elsinore / Menifee area. Let me know if you were able to find anything. Maybe we can share spots.
I use to hunt a property off of Winchester east of the 15, 30 years ago. The area is now homes. There are quail out there good luck finding an area.
