    Default 17hmr

Any reviews on different manufacturers? I like the laminated thumbhole stock on the Savage. Price is not bad either...

A bit dated, but something to get you started:

I love my Savage w/ the CCI 17 gr. TNT round. In the next week or so, I'll be grilling me some Squirrels.
Think me not unkind and rude,

That I walk alone through grove and glen.

I go to seek the God of the wood,

And fetch His word to men.

I bought the winchester lead-free ammo and right the box they weren't firing. I suggest a different brand of ammo. The CCIs work great and so do the hornady

The HP 17gr shoot best outta mine. Doesn't care for the green stuff as much. The .17HMR is just plain devastating on varmints.
Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000. The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.

Check this thread for my ongoing review of the Savage 93R17BV:

So far, I love the rifle. For the price, it is a great, light, tack driving rifle with an awesome round.

Agreed. Used mine during the Appleseed Project course.
