Special ops group scolds White House: Stop the leaks and the bragging

As we enter into presidential debate season and start hearing more discussions about foreign policy, we’re bound to be regaled — ahem, yet again — with the oh-so-epic tale of how President Obama made the decision to take out Osama bin Laden (i.e., “ask Osama bin Laden if I engage in appeasement“). But the White House’s version of events, together with all of the security leaks dripping out of the White House in recent months, haven’t done much to win the military and intelligence community over to President Obama’s favor. A group of former U.S. intelligence and Special Forces operatives called OPSEC is launching a media campaign to highlight the dangers of these high-level leaks in posing real threats to American lives, starting with a 22-minute film they released on their website today. Dang:

“Mr. President, you did not kill Osama bin Laden, America did. The work that the American military has done killed Osama bin Laden. You did not,” Ben Smith, identified as a Navy SEAL, says in the film.

Watch the vid and decide for yourself if our troops did their job or did barry take credit for political reasons... It is very telling...

It is beyond embarrassing the the POTUS would stoop so low for political reasons, but not surprising in barry soteoros case, as he has done nothing but pander and campaign since taking office...

Ok, first of all, OPSEC is organized as a 501(c) charitable org. However, the film is pure PAC and has nothing to do with charity. OPSEC says that they have about $1 million in a war chest to do more political advertising in swing states. This doesn't sound like a 501(c) to me at all.

Secondly, EVERY commanding officer gets the credit for his command's successes and takes the hit for failures. Obama is no different. As Commander in Chief he is entitled to say that the success was his because it happened on his watch. He listened to the proposed plans, looked at the gathered intel, and authorized the mission that his joint chiefs laid out for him. He gets the credit regardless of who in the field did the actual grunt work.

Obama may not be universally liked but this video is PURE POLITICS. Nothing more, nothing less. As such, IMO, it is entitled to join the rest of the political trash in the circular file.

The video primarily talked abut leaks coming out of the white house or leaks in general from this administration. The bottom line is you got a stupid president that doesn't know when to shut up. Leaks that most experts are saying will cause American lives. This president is either pure evil or just one stupid ahole.

This has all been premeditated and with complete forethought. Barry has done everything since taking office with one thing in mind, getting re elected and changing the way of life of the 300 million legal citizens who love this great nation. All the pandering and pontificating by barry does not change facts, he is a weak leader and a non existant commander in chief... Everything is political and in order to promote his socialist agenda...

I agree with this statement as long as the CO is taking hits for the failures as well and not just taking credit for success and passing buck on failures. That is bad for moral. The problem with this POS oops I mean POTUS, is that he should have said "The Seal Team I inherited from the previous administration" did this if he were to be consistent on where the blame and credit lies. And he should leave it at "You mess with America, you lose". Not keep trying to let people think it was Obama who masterminded and made this all happen. Give credit to the United States Military for being the best of the best no matter who is POTUS. Unfortunately Obama and his inability to pass a budget and the lame deal the defense dept. is going to get from it he could seriously weaken our military if he gets another four years. So NO, Obama should NOT be TAKING credit for this for political purposes. The intel we got probably came from a source he vowed to get rid of when he got elected. He needs to learn to start saying WE a little more and I and THEY a lot less. If he was the quarterback on our football team we would be letting some people through to sack his a$$ till he started getting the TEAM concept.

The issue is not his no brainer decision to authorize the operation that got Bin Laden. It's about divulging secrets from the white house that endangers the lives of our special ops forces, for political gain in his campaign, where he can't run on his failed track record.

What bothers me the most is that barry is claiming he was "the one" and the WH is behind the continued leaks that appear to be for strictly political reasons. There have been several articles about barry defering to valerie jarret on the actual go order and he waited when he could have gone ahead, and there have been many articles wrtten about the leaks coming out of the WH and how they are undermining our troops and operatives abroad.
I for one am glad usama bin hiding is toast but I also am mad that the leaks continue...
