Spent the evening hand feeding deer out at Lake Travis, tx. Cool experience...they came right out of the woods, and we busted out the dried corn.....the one with the broken antler was a pig....ate so much. There had to be at least 12 to 15 deer that came around....

How fun! Thank you for sharing your experience!
Jeff
I guess they know its not deer season yet......or they probably would be hiding. This year I got drawn for G-13 (San Diego Antlerless) and will pick up a D-16 as a 2nd, I can not imagine this happening with the venison down there, plus I am sure it would be considered baiting. With that said......are you allowed to feed deer during the pre-season and then just stop when the season rolls around? Maybe they would come back to the same spot? Or is that still considered baiting too? I am guessing that is still considered baiting and you are just not suppose to feed deer in California.......whatever, I do not plan to do that, just wondering thats all. It sure was a lot of fun though hand feeding these guys, the deer hear in Texas sure are different than the ones in San Diego.....

Ca is one of a few states that don't allow baiting. If you bever watch hunting shows you can see he shoot them over feeders sometimes
