I was very pleased to see a followup on the story about the woman who is making a campaign to outllaw Oryx hunting in Texas. 60 Minutes presented a very pro-hunting viewpoint last night about the idiocy of this stance. Their clip of the fanatic showed her opining that Oryx are better off extinct (as they are currently in I think it was Botswana) then alive on Texas ranches.

Her fanaticism caught her. Over there she wants them in reserves where the natives have already poached them to extinction. She wants to put more of them over there so they can do it again. Idiocy!!!

The ranchers explained that a $5K hunt now with the necessity of a federal permit just halved in value. He also explained half the Oryx will be gone in 5 years and the rest in 10 if there is no economic interest in the flourishing herds.

All for a single fantatic, just like the Mtn Lion lady here in CA.
