Not to take this thread to a different place but, I thought it was going south real quick with the term Mud Butt.

I was thinking this was going to be interesting.

Yeah that camera doesn't have a very quick trigger as it's a 5 year old Moultrie and this was the best of the 3 picture burst. =/

I think I'll move the camera to the seep where he sat in the mud and maybe I can get something good to share.

How do you gauge size from this pic? I don't see anything that would suggest it is possible to estimate what kind of bear it is. Am I missing something?

Look at the size of his front leg, and 9 times out of 10 Mud Butt's are king of the hill.

Here's a new bear photo that I got off the memory card yesterday. All in all this was the only bear to traverse the trail in the last 3 weeks. I don't know if this was mud-butt but I do know there is crap load of bears in this area and some real toads based upon tracks (and piles of scat).Mr. Bear.jpg

I'll buy a tag but he looks pretty small to me but I've never shot a bear and only bought a tag the last 2 years so I'm just guessing on size compared to rabbits and deer I've seen in the same spot on film.

Here's a bigger one from last year.
