Last weekend I took my two boys up to burro to sight in thier rifles for thier elk hunt in Oct in Arizona. My 12 yr old shot .270 for first time and had nice group about 1 in low and 1 shot in the bullseye at 100 yards. My cousin who owns the gun says it was sighted in 2 inches high at 100 yards but with different ammo we could go ahead adjust the scope. He had it sighted in with copper and we were shooting lead. My 15 yr old shot my 30-06 at 100 yards and it was pretty much right around the 10 ring. So there very last shots I put out two small melons and each kid destroyed them at 100 yards. Trying to get them confortable shooting those guns for the hunt.

Nothing builds confidence better than successful range time. Hope your boys get to put their practice to use come Oct.
Think me not unkind and rude,
That I walk alone through grove and glen.
I go to seek the God of the wood,
And fetch His word to men.
Good deal. Take them out to 200 yards and adjust the scopes from there.
