One shot at a runner at 60 yds n missed. Lots of fresh holes but lots of fresh brass here too, looks like someone already cleaned out this canyon, usually its loaded. Might be better in evening, gonna check back next week.

My Savage .17 HMR is now sighted in for those 17 gr TNT rounds. The rifle seems to favor the non-tipped bullets. This is a 75 yard target.

Good luck with that purdy rifle, Jesse.

Jesse I just got the same rifle a few weeks ago except with the walnut stock. Even have the same scope on it. Have already got a few squeeks with it. Pops them pretty good and its like a lazer beam!

Mine likes the same ammo. Devasting results on the little buggers. Accurate as hell! I call it my squirt gun...turns squeaks into splats.

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000. The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.

My .17 went south for some reason and I had to fall back to the .22WM. I need to clean the .17 real good and head back to the targets to see why it's shooting all over the place. I hope it's something loose but everything checked out tight. Bad scope? I missed so many squeaks trying to find the POI and not stopping and re-zeroing

Only thing that will take away the lazer like accuracy of a 17 hmr is wind. Was it windy Jesse? Even a little will do it...

No wind, I was missing chip shots at 30 yds. Weird. Gonna sort it out this weekend.

Mine has done that too, clean barrel, chamber and bolt, and tighten up scope mount screws. It may happen again then repeat the above until it is rock solid, after that keep the barrel clean, mine seems to foul up after a dozen shots or so but it has at least 600 hundreds rounds through it. I’ve slowed down on target shooting.

I have the same rifle and its just crazy accurate. Its not whether you hit the squeak, its where on the squeak you want to hit it.

Went dove hunting this weekend and as soon as my 13 year old picked up his 10th bird, he'd grab the .17 and pick off squeaks. Could it get any better for a kid?
