I went to Basspro's in Manteca ,and I purchased a CVA Acura muzzle loader along with 777's power pellet's, Powerbelt 223 and 295 grain bullet's, and some accessories'. When I purchased the item's, I asked the the gentleman working the counter that did the paper work, that I needed Copper only bullet's, to shoot in the Condor range area.
He picked up the 223's that say Copper Series', and the 295's Copper . I ask the gentleman if they where 100 % copper, he said yes. So I bought them. So on this past Sunday a friend and I went to sight in the muzzle loader, with it being in the bulls eye, on the 1st 3 shot's. Little to say I was stoked about it. Then yesterday a friend call's me and say's that he heard the these bullet's are not 100% copper, but dipped. So when I got home, I cut one in half, and it is Lead dipped in Copper.
What I'd like to see, is if you think, that this is misrepresenting of the Powerbelt bullet's. Not only the print on the package's, but the un known knowledge, of there product's, of the counter help, of the gentleman, that was supposed to be a Gun specialist, at Basspro's. Please respond, thank's eveyone.

I have found out that the people at basspro aren't very knowledgeable about ammo best thing to do is do the research before hand. Sorry you had bad service vic
I'm guessing you need to go to the Barnes TMZ, TEZ, or the Thor bullets (made by Barnes). All have shot well for me.
Kinda funny they would highlight the "Copper" thing on the PB packaging. A tad misleading.

I did the same thing Vic, sorry. They are not even good for target practice because they shoot like crap with any more than 80 grains of powder. So you can't even work up a consistent load for the Barnes or Thors with Blackhorn 209 (that you will eventually end up using if you want consistent results)...

Well I just talked to BassPro's, in Manteca. And they have just lost along time customer. I will never ever buy or send any friend in that direction. All they did was listen, and say there in nothing we can do, even with the problem, being the so called expert gun person behind the counter. Atleast the guy at Powerbelt, said I'm sorry for the mistake, and he couldn't send out replacement bullet's, because they dont have Copper only, but they agreed to send out 2 rifle sling's, to me.That's customer service. I suggested that maybe Powerbelt should think of making the Copper only bullet also, and compete with Barne's. If they do, I'll be one of the 1st inline for them.

I work with a lot of different alloys in my work, you would think they could come up with something that out performs all slugs, mix a little this and a little that put a little copper over it and send it down range.
I had the same problem with some of the store that sells ammo. I asked for copper and they would give me lead with copper coated ammo. It's a good thing I know what I was looking for but was asking the wrong question. What I really want was lead-free ammo. I've learned that not all people who work at a guns and ammo counter hunts or know about ammos and hunting. The proper word to use is "Lead-Free" and make sure the word "Lead-Free" is printed on the box before you buy.
I always check this first so I don't get burned on an impulse buy.

Try the THOR bullets. They are 100% copper. Ya gotta request a sample pack to see which diameter bullet bests fits your barrel, then you can order. These damn things are accurate as hell.

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.
The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000. The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.
Thats one hell of ah expansion dam.

Cool & thank's for the info. I sent an email, for a sample pack., This could be in the right direction.
I've learned more at Bass Pro talking with other customers than the actual 'staff'. Stinks that that guy didn't know what he was talking about, and they have a strict no-return policy on ammunition.
Got confirmation Email today, and the Thor Bullet's 100% copper bullet's are on the way, cant wait to size them up to my CVA Accura, and then place an order. Then hit the range.
Talk to Terry (the Thor designer), he'll hook you up with a good idea on the load.
He designed the Electronic Ignition in-line gun that was marketed by CVA as the Electra. My sister is good friends with his family in Missouri. She bought me one of the Electras in stainless/camo. It will shoot under 1 MOA for me with my hunting load in it.
Terry has taken elk, bison, and several African species with the Thor bullets.
