    Default Lake Elsinore Newbie.

Hi, I'm a new hunter....I've always been interested in hunting and when a friend invited me to go deer hunting, in upstate NY, I jumped all over the offer. Went out and bought a T/C .308 riffle with a Leupold VX-R scope, got it sighted in, hit a clay at 250YDS :) Spent 6 days in the woods and had a great time, unfortunately did not see any horns, just does. I really want to do some local hunting here in SoCal but I don't have a clue where to start.... So here I am doing some research =) Any advice for a newbie would be greatly apreciated, I dont expect anyone to give away their spot...just a general idea.

    Thanks!

    Francisco.

    Hey TC308!

I lived in LE for a long time. There is a place to hunt deer that is BLM land right there in Lake Elsinore. Hit me up and I'll do my best Google Earth skill session to show you where.

Do like I did and move to CO, so you can hunt for real.

I live over in Temecula....During deer season, I hunt a lot out by Palomar (D16/G13). Supposivly there are pigs out there, although I have not seen any yet. There are places you can hunt above Lake Elsinore in the Cleveland forest. Just get a map at the forest office. Also....There is good dove hunting in Palm Springs area.

Welcome, I used to live in Lake Elsinore for around a year. There is, indeed public hunting (BLM I believe) land in Lake Elsinore. Message me and I'll fill you in.

Also, if you look at a satelite image of Canyon Lake, you will see that the northern arm of the lake extends up towards Perris. There is a pretty good chunk of it that is on BLM land. If the water levels are high enough, and you are willing to hike a bit, you can hunt duck there.
