Well, maybe it might be a plausible story?? I read the story on another news link and Biggs says that he had his rock pick in his hand already because he was on some steep terrain. Also, the locals say that all the big game in the area are somewhat [tame] -- maybe fed by locals and seen as no threat by the critters?

Biggs said that when he hit the lion on the head with his rock pick, the lion screamed. At 40 feet from the bear family, maybe the mama bear perceived the lion as an immediate threat and went into attack mode on the lion specifically, and when the lion retreated she just went right back to the cubs to ensure their safety -- not perceiving Biggs as a threat??

Heard F&G isn't buying it right now and is testing some blood found on his backpack to see if its mountain lion blood (from him hitting it with the rock pick). I'm thinking that maybe they should have taken a blood sample from him also to see which kind of Hallucinogenic he was using that day.

I grew up in that area guys. I have crawled those canyons up and down and around where that guy was walking. The guy is full of it. I have come across few bears and no real mountain lion sign. One bruise? anyone of who has been tackled by a mt. kitty should have some claw marks, cant tell me a cat of that size just grabbed the backpack and backpack only.....

I have to disagree, I was saved by the same bear 150 years ago, from aliens as they were about to take me away in their spaceship

That story does not seem right to me. If I was attacked by a mountain lion or any other animal that would inflict injuries I would be leaving as quick as possible. I WOULD NOT STOP TO GOLD PAN before I went home. The man might have fallen and had to make up something so his wife wouldnt be upset.

And he said the bear was friendly to him the couple of times he had run across the bear with the cub? I have a hard time believing that a mother bear is looking for a human play-date with her cub. Sorry, not buying the story.
