Calvin, who I found through one of my fellow hunters here, died yesterday, of complications related to cancer of the prostate, bladder, and lungs. He was in great spirits up until the very end, and the you-tube video I am posting was taken the day before we had to put him down. He's lived a full life in the last year of his life, and I'm glad I got to spend that time with him.
Enjoy, Rich

Sorry for your loss Rich.
Have fun out there.
Bummer Rich. Here's to hoping that Calvin is on the birds now and feeling great!
Think me not unkind and rude,
That I walk alone through grove and glen.
I go to seek the God of the wood,
And fetch His word to men.
Sorry for the loss buddy
That's always tough. My condolences.

Sorry for the loss
Sorry man. Sucks to loose man's best friend.

Sad times Rich. I'm old enough now to have gone through many of these -- but past experience does not make it any easier. Each one is unique. With our longer lifespans than dogs, we are blessed to have so many of them bring their own individual unique style of love and joy into our hearts -- which we cherish and remember forever. I can't even imagine living my life without dogs.
Edit: Did not realize this thread was posted 3 mos ago. Sentiments still apply. Hope grief is diminishing, it has always taken me a long time.
