Who out there shoots a Howa ? And what do you think of it ?
I got the chance to shoot my friends Howa bolt action rifle over the weekend. It's a .270 and it shot very well. The action was smooth and the trigger was pretty good out of the box. The only thing I did'nt like was how fat the stock was just in front of the action.
I have the Howa 270 and absolutly love it. I have a Sterling scope on it with a yardage turret. I shot an antelope two years ago with it at 505 yards and it dropped right where he stood. I have also taken coyotes and pigs with it. It is an absolute tack driver.
I have a Howa 1500 in .223. I didn't like the stock that came with it a replaced with a B&C stock. The Sterling scope didn't last very long either. The gun is a good shooter and I like it.
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.
Howa 30-06. 15years and counting. Love it! Trigger is great.
All is for nothing, if not for GOD.....
"Now then, take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me"
Gotta 1500 Ranch model in .243. It's a great truck gun, nice and light but the Sterling scope was crap. Put a Mark IV tactical on it and it's a shooter. I actually like the Hogue stock but I'm a big guy. I can see where others might not.
Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.
The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000. The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.
Sorry to bump old post but I have two Howa rifles, a .243 and 30-06. Love them both. Took them to burro sat and both my boys were blowing up small melons at 100 yards.
Theres nothing like taking my two boys hunting or fishing!

Shot my friends Howa 223, very accurate, crisp trigger. I would like to get one in 270 one of these days
I just picked up a Howa Ranchlands in .308. Have not had the opportunity send rounds downrange as of yet due to availability of 308 or 7.62 NATO ammo.
i own a Howa chambered in .338 WM,.. absolutly love it !
I've made several mods to it and it shoots like a dream with the handloads I've made up for it Utilizing RL#17 powder and 225 grain AccuBonds,..
