sorry the date is wrong on the pic . I shot the deer 11-29-11 at 50 yards in a bean field with a shotgun. score is 122 and my best deer to date.
Nice buck catchdog. Was he by himself of with a doe? What kind of shotgun do you have? I'm looking to get a slug gun.

Nice buck! Congrats!
Nice job, Catchdog. If I don't get on the ball I'll be having tag soup.
Where in Ohio do you call home?

Congrats nice buck.
I shoot a 870 express with a rifled mossberg barrel topped with a nikon prostaff 2x7x32. It will hold a 2 inch group at 100 yards with Rem copper solids and only dropes 2 inches between 50 yards and 100. I bought the Mossberg barrel because It was cheaper than a Rem barrel and came with a scope. Im not a fan of the cheap scopes that came with it so I gave it to a new hunter for his .22 and put the nikon on it. I live in preble co only 12 miles east of Richmond Indiana and about 35 miles north west of dayton, its heavy farm land. The buck came out by himself at 4:30 pm and it had been snowing about an hour. I have a ground blind set up at the woodline and there are 4 trails that come out of the woods to the beanfield from 10 yards to 116 yards. The live weight of the deer was in the 250 pound range. I butchered yesterday and put up 115 pounds of meat. I let it hang 12 days so it could tenderize good, it being a big old buck. Lucky we had good hangging weather for 12 days. I like to do it all myself from scouting ( without trail cams ) to the freezer. But I did have to get a buddy to help drag the big boy out. I shot the deer on my buddys farm only 3 miles from my house. I told him as he helped drag it out that it was worth every bail of hay I helped him put up. I dont pay any lease but I put alot of hours on the farm for him.
Thanks for the replies and Happy hunting.
Oh Spec17 take a look at the Savage 220 I hear guys are shooting 6 in steal at 200 yards with it. The 870 is nice also and like any gun you just have to find the right ammo they like.
