Good info on the NKP site. On another note it looks like R.N. has downgraded himself from team leader to radio man. But I still can't quite buy it. Was any of your army training done in secret for your MOS (except for site spec training)? I was given required training for CCT and none of it was done in TS. Check out the site...makes for fun reading.

Excert from Monday, September 24, 2012
"My team was helping to refuel the chopper we had come in on and there were two Air America chopper crews standing around. I briefed Akkrat (my Thai sergeant and over the other team members) on what we were about to do. I told him to prepare some Thai rations, more ammo, grenades, and be prepared to leave within a couple of hours. I told him to prepare for a two day mission close to the HCM trail"

Excert from Monday, November 12, 2012
"I knew what my job was and it wasn't running Akkrat's team. That was his job. My job was to provide for insertions and extractions and controlling aircraft overhead. His job was to keep me alive to do my job".

The folks on SOCNET need to flesh out RN on his claims of working with MACV, CIA, Air America, and the Laotian Military Command. He appears to be having trouble keeping his stories straight and the fairy tales about him playing secret squirrel are too much. It's a small community as you know and somebody usually knows someone from a certain base or AO in that time period to verify what he's saying. His blog post about being called out and him not knowing if he was CCT or not is BS. The super secret training with everything being scrubbed is also a red flag. I can give them a heads up unless you don't want him exposed or you want to do it. RN is starting to pizz me off with his "I did this" and "I did that" hero stories, another red flag. Where is MAC on this? Is he still talking to RN or has he moved on?

Mac is busy with other really more important irons in the fire...gold star reunion plus others...and has decided to just ignore him. I've tried to allert a few sources but I'm not getting good responses if I get any at all; including a Webb AFB historical site. If you or others on this site can call him out or know/find someone who can please go for it in spades!! Another note; all mil. retirees need to check the latest issue of Millitary.com looks like pay freezes and bad news is on the way from CBO thanks to BHO. Also read rumor (needs vetting) that many IRA's and 401k's may be exchanged for junk T-bill by the fed to help pay for our growing debt. BOHICA was right on. Wishing all a happy thanksgiving and prayerfully we may have more in the future.

Did find out that RN hails from Fayetteville AR if anyone else is from that local. Have only seen on-line posts and don't know if he's trying to cash in on any of this bunk

I put a post up on SOCNET and they are saying Naylor is a poser, the USAF Butterfly program and MACVSOG didn't start till 1964 and he wasn't part of it. I also submitted his info to the Fake Warrior Project, they are requesting his DD214 under FOIA. Naylor is already covering his azz with what posers always say in that his records are scrubbed and he was in secret squirrel program.

Oops. More timeline problems for Naylor.

    Posted by smcpart on SOCNET

That douchebag also claims to have been using the Beretta 9mm in the early 60's. Oops, do much research, Naylor? What a punk.
Beretta 9mm came out in 1972. It's always those niggling little details that trip the posers up.

He also mentioned he didn't know if the SF had MRE's or not and didn't know if they existed then or not. What they had was a dry ration known as Long Range Patrol Rations, another little point he missed. I believe I found that AFSC 272X0B may be Ground Control Approach (?) which would have made Richbo a scope operator. He also once stated that he thought he was "picked" because he was a HAM and new CW. Correct me if I'm wrong but if your traveling fast and light wouldn't you only need ground to air and maybe short range point to point (both voice) for communications? Stay tuned to "As The Story Unravels."

Naylor appears to maybe have been a 272X0B (scope dope). He has pics he claims of him in the USAF working GCA and RAPCON.

I'd think you'd know what chow you ate and when the meals changed. I know MRE's came in a few years before I got out in 1985. He's not even a good fake. I'm shocked he shows a General HAM ticket in the FCC database.

Get this, ran into a guy who claimed prior USAF radio last week, claimed CRYPTO also. He couldn't remember where his tech school was (Lackland AFB for CRYPTO). When I dangled Sheppard AFB as a possible he jumped on it. He couldn't remember his squadron or where he was stationed. His boss noticed me questioning him after we were introduced and was curious later what I thought since his boss is prior Navy. I told him straight up he was a fraud. He couldn't even remember his AFSC. He needs an FCC ticket to work where he's at and I told the boss he might want to check on that document to make sure he's not committing fraud there. He's a contractor and has failed the simple radio test TWICE!!! His boss asked me if I think he might not know electronics. lol. Yeah think??? Unfreaking believable the BS people think they can get away with.

Finally solved the problem on SOCNET but it looks like they have already had enough of Richbo Naylor and closed the thread. I guess as long as he doesn't try to cash in publicly on his secret squirrel dream world we can just ignore him. Its going to be heart breaking to his family when they learn the truth about him.

I was a USAF Security Policeman @ Ubon RTAFB during that time. I worked on Town Patrol and we had to deal with all the CIA-paid troops who came into Ubon on R&R, along with the great crazy Spectre Gunship crews who flew out of Ubon every night. The CIA guys were "disarmed" as for M16s and handguns" but they all had knives and multiple types of grenades! More tha once we had to go to Thai Whore Houses in "suburban" areas of Ubon with the Thai Police and Thai Police Special Action Forces which were the outer perimeter of the base security when these guys blew up a whore house due to lack of Kitty! We pulled security on several MC-130s that landed on isolated pads and were debriefed w/ security taboos!
The books now available reveal what these heroes did, my minor contribution in comparison to theirs is minor, God Bless them and their families

    Hello bubbinator,

Welcome to the thread. I am the only one here who actually had boots on the ground during 1962-63, so I would like to keep it historical. I was a regular Army assistant advisor, and hold an Honorary Commission in the Royal Lao Army.

Jesse started another thread for the Air Force Valor stuff. The two thread do not overlap.

For what its worth I heard about this site on SOCNET, www.tlc-brotherhood.org/ check it out if you like. I think its a link that will point you to other links but haven't looked to close at it yet.

    bubbinator
Trust me, no matter what you did it wasn't minor by any means. BTW did you ever work on the rail road?
Map can be a stick in the mud at times (hes ten years older than me and twice as grouchy) so if you have and military TANS (this ain't no s&*t) stories or anything military not related to SEA come over to Air Force Special Tactics "Send Me" Video by Max Impact spectr17 and I will see you there. There's an idea Jesse how about a Military TANS thread? Check out the other threads as well, join in and comment as you see fit and welcome aboard.

Was trolling around the internet and unless I've missed something it looks like Naylor (or someone) removed "Dark Shadows in the Laotian Night". Still has other sites up with the same crap.

Naylor's Dark Shadows blog is still there P, he hasn't posted since Nov when he got called out on his BS. He still has CCT plastered all over his Facebook. I get down to AR once in a great while, it'd be great to hit the local cafe and see how big hero he is around there and explain how he's just a fraud. What other sites does he have?

On the POW Network search for his DD214, THe Records Center in Overland MO said his was one of the records burned up in the big fire they had in 1973 so he caught a break there. No way to verify his service through FOIA. Maybe we can convince him to post his DD214 to prove his story. Of course he'll stick with the usual Secret Squirrel program story and claim he was sheepdipped.

Naylor's back at it with another 2 chapter "snatch" mission fairy tale. http://ranaylor.blogspot.com/. He might be able to pull off this charade off if he had only worked in CCT and knew that jets are called "fast movers" and not "fast flyers". What a delusional goof.

Read through it and caught these pretty easy...they would be making an LZ (landing zone) not an LS. Using C-4 and det. cord is ok, cut trees close to ground and cut brush with machete but C-4 does make quite a boom. Axes shovels? Not likely. He says he used a FN-FAL but the picture is a variant - Sturmgewehr STG-58. Also says he got a radio check? All radios would be gone over with a "fine tooth comb" before leaving. Once on site radio silence would be maintained until exact time of contact was reached. Could be wrong but I don't remember anything about regular (ground) foriegn troops being trained at Ft. Bragg, officers maybe but not enlisted. Why carve out an extra LZ when existing ones can be reached by the choppers? A 'snatch' made overly complicated. No rappel gear (one l not two as he wrote)? What about a haste sling made with rope? Did some training with one and they work quite well. He's out on a cracked limb with this one.

Interesting thread. We don't talk much but my dad was one of the hmongs recruited by the CIA. It's a rough guess that he was born in 1957 so he was still really young when you folks were putting boots down in SEA. From what he's told me, I believe he was born in Luang Prabang but was raised somewhere in xienk houang, Laos. Everyone in my dads family (mom/dad/brothers/sisters) died during that time frame and the only survivors are him and his sister. He doesn't talk much about what happened there but I know he gets nightmares about what happened to them after the Americans left.

    559hog:
Welcome aboard! If you've read my posts you know that I wasn't in SEA myself but know many CCT that were. Here are a few websites that might be of some help if you haven't seen them before. These may not tell your dads story but do give insite to what the Hmong people went through during that period. Map might have been able to give a little insight but he hasn't been here lately. To find more "boots on the ground" take a look at socnet. Read through some of the posts and then send a pm to one of the moderators if you don't find exactly what your looking for. Tell them who you are and why your there and they'll try to help you out.

    Jesse:
Looks like Naylor has continued his post again, shame he didn't just call it fiction and ask for help writing it. He's a good writer even if it ain't true.
