Default Neezer gets bit by snake.

    Howdy All,
I was sitting in my recliner watching tv. I got up and walked in front of the sofa where Neezer was sleeping on his back. Next to the sofa is Gypsy's bed. Right in front of her bed I see something move on the floor. It's a snake of some kind. About 12" long and pencil thin. It's on the hard floor so it isn't moving real fast, so I move in to take a better look. A harmless Gopher snake. It makes it to the carpet and now the chase is on. I finally get a hold of it but realize it has a hold of me. I get the little guy disconnected from that finger but he just finds another on to grab hold of. Now this is getting a little monotous so I'm looking for a solution to the situation. By this time the commotion has alerted the dogs. At this point the little guy is stretched out about 6" from my hand to his head. Neezer wants to get a look at this little critter, so he comes in close and the little fellow latched onto Neezers nose. He pulls back stretching the snake a little more until he lets go. Now everyone is keeping a safe distance. I take little guy outside and release him. At least now I won't have to spend another $70 on another snake avoidance clinic LOL.

Scared me for a second, glad everyone is OK.
Think me not unkind and rude,

That I walk alone through grove and glen.

I go to seek the God of the wood,

And fetch His word to men.

    Had me worried too.

I don't visit the hound forum much at all, but once I saw Neezer's name I had to read what was going on.

At my sister's old place, she had rattler's that would occasionally come in her garage and sometimes reside under her house. She even got stung once on her bare foot by a scorpion in that same garage.

I'm glad your dog is okay, and I guess this will make him more wary of legless critters.

sounds like a cheap lesson learned, glad it wasn't a bad snake. hopefully no damage to the sniffer.

    Howdy .300Savage,
No damage. The little guy was so small he didn't even break the skin when he bit me.

Also had me worried there for a sec.

Dammit Frank! You had to know you would get us all worried citing Neezers name and snake bite! I'm just glad Neezer didn't get bit by a jackrabbit -- then he might avoid them? Did the other dogs get a laugh out of it?

    Howdy jackrabbit,
