    I have never gutted my fish before filleting. He did a nice job, but his fillet knife could use a sharpening.

    Why would you eve GUT a fish before filleting it? I fillet it so i do not have to gut it-BWAAAA

    That method is a little too dainty and time-consuming for me. I'd have it prepared and ready to cook before he'd finished his first cut...

    I've never gutted a fish to fillet it. That is one of the big advantages to a fillet: you get three pieces when done. Two fillets, and the rest, all still attached together.

    Only fish I gut is a trout. Everything else just filet and toss the rest
