Have it looked at by someone reputable and knowledgeable about the Winchester Model 12. If it's a field gun it might not be worth much as is, especially if it's in poor shape. However; there are variants that can be worth some money.

If it were me, I'd leave it as is. I think it has lots of character, and the condition tells tales of days gone by out in the field. Has this gun been passed down in your family? Do you know it's age?
Think me not unkind and rude,

That I walk alone through grove and glen.

I go to seek the God of the wood,

And fetch His word to men.

I'm with Inchr. It's a field model by the looks of it and the fact it has no vent rib. The Dildo may have been added to the barrel but is a nice addition (although loud). I always liked a Cutt's on a pump or auto. Leave it be, or at the most, rub some oil on the stock.

Yeah; Winchester did a bunch of factory Cutt's installs. I've seen quite a few over the years. Adds a nice bit of weight to the front end.

Few more years and it will be 100 year old shotgun. And it's a 16 ga too.
