    Default boar hunt turned bad

    IMG_6819.jpgIMG_0138.jpgIMG_0136.jpg
Well shot one sow... then ended up sticking my knife thru my hand.... not a good way to end the day...got 50lbs+ of boned out meat and found a rage broadhead and arrow shaft inside the cavity of her! Let me remind you I shot his boar with a 338 win mag.... the arrow was found while deboneing! One tough pig!

Nice pig. Was the wound from the arrow healed up, could you tell how long the shaft and broadhead was in there? Just curious.

How the hell did you manage to stick your knife completely thru your paw dude?
Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000. The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.

I keep asking my self the same question... i really never felt the entry or exit until i felt the warmth of the blood... I looked down and it was squirting out...I grabbed my game bag and put pressure on the wound and then it started squirting out the other side... i guess being trained as a medic does come in handy... I walked 1.5 miles out.... and then drove 25 minutes to meet up with the wife and then another 25min to the hospital...yikes!

You turn the push mower upside down and its your buddies turn to pull the mower wile you throw sticks and stuff in the fast turning blades i should of lost 2 fingers but i lucked out, my dad just sharpened them the day before so it was like super clean cut, it was my index finger right at the first joint, they did a good job but the tip died and i had to have it removed bummer i was 12 years old end of story.

Could it have been the broadhead? Good thing you went to the hospital that could have been one nastey infection from the porker... Nice pig!

Both you and that porker had a rough week. The pig had been recently shot with an arrow and you have a rather large self inflicted wound. I hope there's no nerve damage...have you lost any dexterity? I can honestly say I've never been stabbed without knowing it.

And folks claim the hogs are dangerous? Both those wounds look like they gotta sting.

Nice looking pig, get well, and a reminder to the rest of us, to look before we touch and watch the knives. Had you been further out the ending could have been much worse.

This is exactly what happened to me. Fortunately I was not hunting alone and was able to get the pig back to the truck. Worst part was I had switched hunting packs the night before and had left my first aid kit out and at home. Amazing what you can do with paper towels and rope!

Your picture has inspired me to invest in a tourniquet for my first aid kit.

Hope your gun safety is better then your knife safety! Be glad your fingers are still working good. My wife took a bb in the hand as a kid and now two of the fingers can not move independently of eachother.
