Awesome! Very nice. What the heck was on it? Looked like some sort of hideous flesh eating disease! How did you strip it?
Bender the bow was heavley camo painted and they had a sight with tons of old electrical tape that was sticky and left all that thick residue.
i sent the bow to Wisconson toJoe L. of the Bow Hospital / Prarie Traditions on the recomendation of Grey T. our Trad forum memeber here on JHO.
when i got it back i was totaly shocked on the awesome job they did, worth every penny!
got to get to work now . i csn post a couple of more photos for u using my new tapatalk set up once i am at work, this tapatalk app is awesome!....tra

I have been trying to score a 1970 Kodiak just like this one for a couple of years now with no luck without paying a high. So a guy advertised this one for $300.00 it look good on the add when I got there and he pulled it out of the trunk and my hart sunk wjen I saw the condition it was in. I told him no way he was going to get that kind of money for it so he made a new offer to me for $140.00 still seemed high but I could see the potential so I thought I could restore it my self. Once I really thought about it I didn't want to ruin it so I sent to the bow doctors and they did there magic. No regrets at all, glad I did.....tra

If you don't mind telling, what did they charge you for the refinish?
The bow looks great now. What's the draw and poundage on it?

Palladin, the cost to refurbish the bow plus return shipping and handling was $140.00, and for an extra $20.00 they do the original bear factory decals on the limbs too with about a 4 week turn around on the project. so i do have $300.00 total investment into the bow, which is no problem i can sell it for what i put into it and get a little extra too for that year bow too from the right buyer. have a great day!...tra.....tra

Holy cow, did that ever turn out nice!
I'm glad that all worked out well for you. You sure got a hell of a bow out of the rodeo.
I had a KMag similar to yours until just recently. I decided I haven't been shooting 65# for awhile and it needed to go to a good home. Luckily, a friend bought it and has been really enjoying it. He really surprised me as he's a dyed in the wool wood bow builder and user. It really surprised me when he was interested in the KMag.
