Boooo IHOP in Barstow. They offered to help serve part of the breakfast for the recent Mojave NP Youth Quail Hunt and when they found out it was for kids hunting they pulled their pancakes and sausages back.
I think next time I'm heading through Barstow I'll stop and let that manager know my shadow will never fall in his restaurant as long as he treats the youth in the community like that.
From their website on Social Responsibility. Maybe I missed it, I don't see the part about anti hunting agendas and reneging on promises.
Here's the contact info if you want to express your happiness with this. When thousands of people embrace their responsibility to our communities and our planet, the results can be astounding. The good news is…we’re just getting started.
At IHOP, we operate under a cultural framework that we call our Vision and Values. Our Vision and Values are the foundation of our relationships with our guests, suppliers, communities and each other. It is an articulation of our values and behaviors that define who we are and how we work. We value innovation, collaboration and diversity as we behave with integrity. These core values and beliefs are also how we hold ourselves and each other accountable to the vision of what we want IHOP to be.
We organize our efforts into categories that recognize our efforts to Care for the Environment, Support our Communities and Value our Employees.

I think I will call the manager and ask if there is a good breakfast place to go to in Barstow that is hunter friendly.
Hope this isn't their bacon running across the front of my sights!!![]()
Let's see, IHOP serves up tons of artery clogging, diabetes causing, fat loading and non-nutritious garbage it calls delicious "edible" food....and our kids who hunt provide real, nutritious, lean and healthy God's food...and it's IHOP that pitches itself as a company that strives for "integrity", "accountability" and wants us to believe it's a steward of the "environment" and "community". What garbage!
a national boycott is in order.. they will wake up once they start to lose millons of dollars from hunters who no longer go to IHOP w/their families nation wide.

I would definitely boycott the Barstow location but I believe most if not all IHOP locations are franchise so the decision was most likely the franchisee and not a corporate decision. I did not research this so please tell me if i am wrong but i would hate to hurt many of the hard working staff and franchisees at other IHOP locations because of the actions of this jerk.

That said. I say support the local and independently owned spots for your meal. That money is more likely to stay in your community instead of going to a corporate office somewhere else in the country.
My personal boycott found that the pancakes at Denny's were just as tasty
Discrimination at any level is wrong and their corporate office should hear from you Jesse regarding this matter. Maybe the local news should get wind of this. It is wrong to force their anti hunting agenda on any one specially kids, who are our future. Send a letter along with a phone call to their corporate office on behalf of our future.

i did not know any of this, but i have not been on the forum for a couple of weeks. any way this IHOP in question is right in my back yard, i live in Barstow so yes i can be a big pain in their back side, i will talk to this manager and if he still wants to discriminate against hunters i will contact their main office
Ihop sucks even more now
I'm all for hassling em...maybe one call a week.
Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.
The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000. The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.
I sent my letter and I will not patronize their restaurant. Let's get pro-active and send more letters.
