They are spreading faster and reproducing at a higher rate than the USDA predicted. Surprised? Next stop - California.

They are confirmed in north Baker County,OR been seen now in the Cascades east of Bend. They are in the Ochocos and suspected to be south of Baker City. I saw tracks about 40 miles north of the Nevada Border in extreme southeast Oregon. The biologists don't confirm unless THEY can do it.
The Siskiyous in SW Oregon have allegedly had them for years though they were thought to be wolf hybrids that were intentionally released.
I would not be surprised for them to be found in the Lassen region within the next decade. The only plus is that they will do a number on the cougars when they get there.

From the article it appears these are mostly individual wolves (unless I misread). I don't think we need to worry too much until we get wolf packs roaming through CA.
I would love to see a wolf and a couger go at it, tho...that would be epic!

Wolf OR-7 has definitely made it's way to the Siskiyous in N. CA, according to the Bend Bulletin... which isn't all that reliable.

Since wolves aren't native to Oregon, I'm against them in the state... Other than that I'm all for keeping them where they belong, within the circle of life.
