    Default Don't fall asleep!

It's the off season, we are all off doing baseball and such. But don't fall asleep my fellow waterfowlers. Stay fired up!

Here's a couple of pics from last season to help you out.

I too am wide awake. Baseball fills my days while I use the rest of the day to dream about next season's waterfowl hunts.

I am constantly thinking about what the next season will bring.

My daughter plays softball and surrounding the field is a creek covered in trees. The mallards often buzz right over the field as they swoop down to the creek to feed.

I get caught dreaming all the time. My daughter was staring at some working mallards one day and the coach had to yell at her to get her head back into practice. She said, "sorry coach, I was hunting..."

I was up shooting squeaks today in the foothills and I took a peek in my jumpshoot pond. It still had water and 4 mallards dipping away. I didn't have the camera with me for a pic. We've had a lot of water this winter but my pond may not last till fall. When the mudhole has water we've whacked snows, honkers and big ducks out of there. Great levee to sneak up on the ducks there. Hope for more rain.

I'm counting the days.........but I still have a couple of bucks to whack. Until then, i will remember Sprig Lagoon, and the sweet, whistling bounty of her misty mornings..............

I'm here and I'm awake! Every time I see a bird in the air I want to know if it's a duck and what type. There's a park behind my house and I keep a honker call on the table to drive the resident geese crazy as they try to figure out who they forgot..........
First I need to fish and pig hunt. Then comes deer and bear. As much as I love those other sports, I can't wait for duck season. I need to get a lot beter at this refuge hunting

By the way I stop here every day looking for something interesting or a litle piece of wisdom

Nice. I'd love to mount a Black Duck. Great color patterns and vermiculation.

I'll tell ya what Tominator, send me a mature Black Duck Drake, and pay for the return, and I'll mount it no charge. I just want to mount one.

No kidding! Thanks for the GH comp, what a bull. No worries on the size, the offer stands. Get a mature drake, I'll do the rest.
