Default Wards Western field Mod 25 .22 cal

Ok gang Im stumped. I have a Wards Western Field Single shot .22 that was just given to me. Part of the firing mech. in the back of the bolt is missing and I would like to replace it and give the gun to my son for his first gun when he's old enough. I tried researching it on the web and so far theres not much out there as to when the gun was manufactured or who actually made the gun for Wards. I did come on some info about a gun manufacture named Noble that went out of buisness in the early 70's. After the Wards Western Field Mod 25 on the barrel follows XNH10N.Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Ward's rifles were made by Marlin and Mossberg, among others (Colt, High Standard?) I believe. Was this the single shot that required you to cock the loop or handle on the back of the bolt to cock it after you closed the bolt? (I have a Sears version of that rifle which was made by Marlin.)

It could be, unfortunately, thats the part thats missing. The posts that Ive been able to find on it are pretty decisive that it is made by Noble per the XNH10N mark after the name. Which model Marlin do you have? Maybe it would cross reference as I know Marlin did make rifles for Wards.

Ok I might have a line on it. Could be either a Noble Mod. 20 or Model 10, well see what happens here.

Try e-gunparts, they might have an extra bolt for your Noble. Here is the Noble models parts page...
