    Default A Fish Story

One day my wife was trying to decide what stained glass project to do next and I said: "Why don't you make a marlin fly out of this wall."

    Here he is. :)

And danged if she didn't do it! Man, that's righteous! Would she do something like that to sell?

Thanks guys. With the exception of the frame she did everything by herself- studied photos for color, design, pattern, glass selection etc.

She even searched a bunch of glass shops for the right water:

    Can I help you?
    I'm looking for water glass.
Oh, we have lots of water glass.
But I'm looking for TUNA water. :)

    Outstanding!

Great work on her behalf and not such a bad idea on yours. I grew up with my mom making stainglass and etching pieces. Tried my hand in some too as a youth. Lot's of time and patience.

Thanks. It really is a lot of work. All the cutting and grinding, then she has to edge each piece with copper foil before soldering. I can't cut a piece of glass to save myself. I did finish the frame today by putting a corbel under the overhang.

That is about the grooviest stained glass piece I have ever seen. I hope she realizes the talent that she has and knows she could make some really good $$ with it. My mother is a supreme artist and sells her art faster that she can paint it. That is a sign that you are not charging enough , I tell her that often.
That is some impressive glass !!!!

Incher48- any idea how they work? I think she would but what makes it go up and down?

Also- there's been some response to have her do a deer piece. PM some photos that you guys like and I'll twist her arm.
