Going to Edisto or Pawley's Island, S.C., this summer? Crabbing - a perennial pastime at most coastal vacation destinations - requires little more than some chicken backs, string and a dip-net. Here's an easy way to serve your catch:
DEVILED BLUE CRAB
2 cups crab meat
2 cups bread crumbs soaked in 1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon butter
1 egg
1 teaspoon dry mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon A-1 steak sauce
3 or 4 shakes Tabasco sauce
salt and pepper to taste
Blend ingredients together and place in crab forms. Bake at 375 degrees until light brown. Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
