    Default Hawaii Axis deer

Here are a pair of Axis deer bucks that my friend shot on Lanai recently. the larger one measured 33.5" and the other measured 28". Not bad for a morning hunt.

Nice bucks. I want to do an archery hunt for them sometime. That would be a blast.

These were taken on the private hunt.

MJB, The axis deer in Hawaii are legal to hunt year-round on private land with the landowner's permission.

Lanai company has a commercial hunt for them if you're interested

    MJB
Axis deer breed year-round so they can be found in all stages of antler development. However, the majority of them will have dropped their antlers in the fall months and by feb-march they begin to have hardend antlers again.
