    Default fl user pay WMAs

I'm trying to learn what florida WMAs charge a User Pay fee.(actually which ones don't) FWC online doesn't divulge that information. I'm looking at Devil's hammock. Anyone?

They divilge all that informatiuon but you have to read each WMA rules/regs book because they vary on all WMA's. Looks like all you need for Devils Hammock is the $25 WMA permit. Then they give out daily permits on a first come first serve basis.

The only one that I know of that us user pay in the G-Ville/Newberry area is Grove Park. It's requires a Recreation Use Permit. That's $425 but it's sort of like getting into a club. Less people than the open WMA's that only require the $25 permit.

Here is a link to the all the WMA rules and maps.

Thanks Arrowhead. Yeah I've read the brochure for Devil's Hammock over and over as well as most of FWC's other online pages trying to make sure I know correctly. It states that I am exempt from all permits if I am 65 or older. I hunted Lochloosa successfully for years until they went to user pay, then found a private parcel that I hunted free. Being the weekend, I didn't want to wait 'til Tuesday to call FWC. Do you know - what's the deal with the dates - 9/26-29, 9/30-10/4? Again thanks.

Not sure why they have the consecutive dates broken up like that. Some of these WMA's you need to be a laywer to comprehend. I have a friend that turkey hunts DH.

    Good Luck.

I was out there yesterday and saw some turkey scratching, several places where hogs had been rooting, lots of deer sign(tracks) and I wouldn't even think of sitting more than five minutes without my thermocell.

Yeah with as much rain as we've had this year the T-cell is a must have.
