We just got back from our entry in the 2009 Yarmouth , Nova Scotia Shark Scramble. It is a two day shark fishing derby, that is held annually, and we have entered every year since the tournament started. We caught around 70 blue sharks in total this year, one 180 lb (estimated weight) Mako shark, and one Big Eye Tuna. We are only allowed to land 3 sharks per boat, during the two day event, keeping our largest 3, and tagging and releasing the others. The tuna was released, as we are not allowed to keep one, and the Mako was also released.
We had the second largest shark of the tournament, a blue shark weighing 370 lbs, and received the second place prize of $2500.00. The largest shark of the tournament, was a 378 lb blue shark, that received the $ 5000.00 first prize. We lost out on first place by only 8 lbs, but that`s fishing. Two years ago, we won the $5000 first place prize, and last year we were under the top three, and out of the prize money. They have three prizes, first place $5000.00, second place $2500.00, and third place $1500.00

THE WORST DAY OF HUNTING OR FISHING IS BETTER THAN THE BEST DAY AT WORK
Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.
The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000. The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.
