Maryland deer kill exceeds 100,000 for first time
Do tough economic times make deer hunters hunt harder? Yes, according to the Maryland DNR's State Deer Project Leader Brian Eyle, who reports that hunters killed 100,437 deer during the 2008-2009 season, the highest total harvest since the state began modern deer management practices in the early 1900s.
