I just want to know what is the difference between the 3 different versions of the marlin 336, the A, C, W. tON Me it looks like it is just the finish and the butt pad. Is there something im missing. Right now i am leaning toward the W because it looks to be the middle of the road between the 3

The C is the nicest of the 3 with a walnut stock, The w and the A are both a plainer birch stock. The A has a black fore grip cap, and the W has a foregrip barrel band. The C is available in 35 Remington as well as 30-30. The metal on all three is the same. I have an 1980 A model that had a 24" barrel with a half tube magazine.
