I live in the Lake Elsinore and considering dusting off my hunting bow and getting deer tags for the cleveland nationals area. As I drive through the Ortega highway going back and forth to Capistrano there seems to be some nice areas that would hold deer. I think bow hunting would be a better way to go do to the human presence (bikers, hikers etc..)

Can anyone share with me areas that I can hunt or would be willing to go out with me?

Don't really have the time or $ to take trips up north or out of the country. To find a few areas that are huntable that is less than 1 hr from my residence would be awsome!

Also, any suggestions on Bow hunting clubs in my area would be appreciated!

    Thanks all!

    first off, welcome to JHO.

I'm on the other side of the hill and have driven a lot of the roads up there (skyline, harding, main divide, etc). It's really rough country up there, and needs to burn. That being said, there are deer up there and there are reports of guys having some good luck.

Check out the bowhunting forum, there was a recent thread about D15.

The Oranco Bowmen archery club is the closest I know of and it's in Chino Hills right next to the shooting range.

when I die, I hope my wife doesn't sell my hunting gear for what I told her I paid for it.
