Waterfowl Hunting Clinic For Women
Released 8/23/2002
Women interested in hunting waterfowl this fall are invited to attend a clinic on Saturday, September 14, in Great Falls to help prepare for the hunt season.
Participants will learn to identify waterfowl, practice shotgun shooting, use duck calls, develop skills in how to estimate distances when shooting, set up decoys and build a blind. Participants can bring their own shotgun or one will be provided. Instructors will share information on waterfowl regulations, hunting etiquette, the best loads to use, and where to hunt.
Designed for women but open to anyone, the clinic is an extension of the popular Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program sponsored by Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks. Designed for the beginner or novice, participants need no hunting experience. The clinic will be held at the Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge outside of Great Falls. A fee of $35 will be charged to cover lunch, barbeque dinner and other materials.
For registration information contact Liz Lodman at FWP, PO Box 200701, Helena MT 59620, phone 406-444-2615, or by email: llodman@state.mt.us.
