New England Lumberhacks Pre-season Hack-jam
and Hunt!
For all who don't know who we are, we're just a loose, informal collection of selfbowyers and wanna-be selfbowyers from the New England Area who get together a couple times a year to have bow making sessions for beginners, and chew the fat, exchange ideas, shoot, and have a good time. The last few times have been up at my house in Massachusetts, but this time Kent has graciously offered the North Guilford (connecticut) Archers grounds and ranges if there is any interest.
What we're are talking about is getting together Saturday 9/28 for a afternoon hunt on state land ajoining the grounds (All CT permits are your own responsibility, etc. etc.), and then sunday having the hackjam at the North Guilford Archers grounds.
the grounds have:
-Primitive camping available if interested
-lots to shoot at
-A large central gathering area for bow-building with many picnic tables and bow racks.
again, we are just an informal group, no membership fee, dues or anything else, so you pretty much have to provide for yourself at the jam, but we hopefully will be able to round up a few whitewood staves for any beginner needing one to start hacking on. or you can pickup a board at a lumber yard.
If you are interested in attending, please send me your email address and a short introduction (if we haven't already met). My email addy is
