Well, after buring up the first one I bought the 2nd one. It worked with no problems at all. About 3 weeks back I put the camera out with a 24 roll of film pointing at the feeder. Get the film back and the only thing on their was some coons and a bunch of trees. Move camera away from the feeder and slap in a 36 roll and put a salt block in front. Get the flim out and find a crap load of hogs and a very nice young 8pt. Move the camera again and come back today to get film, flip toggles off and open up to find it only took 2 pics. I started messing with it and water started coming out of the PIR. Take it home and had to slap in a spare PIR and it works again. I didn't think about sealing up around the white thing on the PIR, I guess I should have did that. I'll have to snap some pics of it tomorrow, its not the best looking game cam around.

    The setup is a:
    Cannon Owl PF
    MS20
    Spinner bait tackle box.

Let us have a look at it,it cant be all that bad and who cares as long as it works.
And on a side note you have to seal Everything up water tight, but i guess you know that now, sorry to hear about the Pir,but dont toss it,it may work agian.

MustangChris1, if you do an external mount, sealing up ALL if the housing can be a mistake. There is a slot in the bottom of the fresnal portion, and a hole in the bottom which are for weeping water and pressure equalization. if these are sealed, I personally would expect to have enough water in the housing to ruin it. If its warm and it rains, the housing will cool causing negative pressure in the housing if they are sealed along with everuthing else. The result is that if there is a pin hole anywhere it will suck in air and water with it to equalize the pressure. If they are left open, there is constant pressure equalization. I moun mine inside now, and it makes it easier to mount timers.

The PIR may be salvageable... I had a case leak and saturate an RS 425. Took it out and left it on top of the furnace awhile (warm, but not too hot) and eureka! it worked fine. Don't get too down on the camera, sounds like it's taking pics. Can't help the coons and hogs, but the trees can be minimized by how you setup. And a pic of an 8 pt. is what it's all about, isn't it?

    Hang in there...
