One Track drove up to my house on Wednesday to pick out his new puppy. Since he traveled a long distance to get here, he had plans to stay in town overnight and leave on Thursday. So I invited him to go out duck hunting with me in the morning.

Just after shoot time he landed a drake mallard, then two more came in and he got a nice fat Mallard with jewelry on it's leg. We had an incredible duck hunt......Now he gets to go back home with his new pup "Duke", and first band....Now I think he's really Hooked on Quack!

Brent, I had a lot of fun duck hunting with you. If you're ever up this way again. Your always welcome to go duck hunting again with me. Of course you'll have to bring your daughter and Duke with you next time.

One Track, nice day for you. A new pup, a great hunt and a fat mallard with jewelry. That is a good omen for Duke being a great hunting partner. Thanks for the post Duckdog. That sure is a nice looking lab.

Wow, that's great! It's awesome to be into the birds and I'm glad it turned out to be such a great hunt. The valley there can produce quite a hunt once in a while. And, Brent, I had no idea you were bitten by the waterfowler's bug big time. CA sure has some good waterfowlin' to be had. You'll love having a dog too no doubt. If you don't have anyone lined up to train your dog if Dana hasn't gotten into that part of it yet is Rob H....he's great.

That is one good looking dog. Nothing like having a best friend. You gotta love the look on that labs face.

Sweet, congrats on both the great looking lab and the band Brent!

DuckDog, are you a breeder/trainer, if I may ask?

Thank you everyone regarding the nice replys about my girl Marzee. Marzee is the momma to Brent's new puppy. This was her first duck hunt this season, since she had her pups.

Wmidbrook, I agree, Rob would be a great choice in trainers for him. One Track lives about 7 hours away so that might not be workable. I know of another good trainer down his way if he could part with his new buddy. BTW....How is Bella?

Ike....I am a hobbiest breeder. I don't breed dogs for aliving. I leave the training to a professional. And I run my dog in AKC Hunt Tests.

If anyone is interested...I still have 2 Black male pups left for sale out of Marzee.

Sorry it took me awhile to get on this post. I've been busy cleaning up after my new pup. I'm exhausted. I think I actually lost a few pounds. All great though. Duke is an awesome dog. Her mom Marzee was incredible in the blind and for the entire hunt. Last Thursday was the best duck hunting that I've ever had. Dana drives a mud boat, and she ain't scared. She can set dekes, call and whack ducks. I think we had 12 ducks before we used up our allowed number of shells. Incredible day.

Bill: Yah, I was bitten last year after a few days at Wister. I'm toast. My deer hunting buddies are bummed. And, yep, I picked up a band. What's the big deal though? I'll be looking into training real hard. But, not sure I can send my first dog away for training. Maybe the second lab, as was suggested by a few experts.

I literally haven't had time to pull out the camera. I'll get some picks up of the dog real soon.

Dana, Thank you. I'm looking forward to getting up there again this year.

If anybody is looking for a pup, Dana's dogs are incredible! Hurry.

Dang, Brent... from a non-duckhunter to a certified, dog buying, band thieving, mallard slaying machine in one short year!

When you get the fever you don't screw around, do ya?

    Congrats!

That's why they call me Mr. Tibbs! I mean, "That's why they call me One Track!" I get on something and I go hard. My local treestand is collecting dust. Now, I just need to find a babysitter so I can go duck hunting!

OneTrack: Congratulations! Sounds like a great trip for you all the way around - puppy, bling, what more could you want?

Duckdog: Wow, I can't wait to hunt with you too!
