Probably a stupid question, but if you have a bird mounted; do you lose that meat?

I've thought that if I got something totally unique, I'd like to have it mounted.
But, if I lose the meat, I'll never know what it tasted like.

I'm thinking of this now while hoping a get drawn for sage grouse, with a limit of one.

You can have your bird and eat it too !
If you know how to skin a bird for taxidermy than that is one option, but most people don't know how so I suggest making a cut between the bottom of the breast bone and butthole and remove all the entrails. Yes, it will get bloody but that all washes out. Even birds that don't have a drop of blood on them get washed.
Good luck !
I drew that permit once and I guess you could say that I stuffed that bird twice.
Dark, ugly looking meat, but it tastes real good.

Cool, thanks.

So, I'd gut it, freeze it and the taxi would skin it; leaving me the meat?

Great, will they cut it and vacuum seal it for me, too?

I didn't know taxis were so multi-talented.
