Going hog hunting this week end and need a good butcher. I will be hunting Priest Valley area, but prefer to get it butchered in or near Fresno Ca. I would welcome any suggestions.

I'd call Weiberts as I think they stopped doing hogs when it changed ownership.

Firefighter,If you get one this weekend, quarter it or get it in an ice chest.Skined of course.Put some lemon juice over the ice,and drain dailey. This will give you a couple of days(Up to 5) to hack it up.I am away till Monday, but E-mail me I'll cut it for you.I have a sausage grinder but I really don't do that till Fall time.PS no Hinky Hogs Upper

I also think Weiberts burned down. You may try Gus's in Madera, 674-6247. I just called them and they said they do them as long as the pigs are skinned and gutted. You have to drop them off by 4:00pm. I have had good luck with them on some deer in the past.

Its a bit of a drive but I've taken game to Lemoore Food Locker. They do a great job and are fairly cheap.

Or you can do what I did...........

Buy a book and a vacume packer and learn to do your own.

Very fun to do since you can take game from the field to the freezer and onto the table........YOURSELF.

At least for me thats what its all about.

Thanks guys, I met another firefighter in the grocery store from Coalinga fire department. He owns a ranch where Im hunting tomorrow and he reccommended me to Ravins in Armona. He said they make the best sausage around. But he also said the meat locker in Lemore is good. So I hope to have some picture for you folks next week. O Ya I also have a grinder and meat stuffer but my sausage hasn't come out as good as I would like, maybe some of you have some tricks to make it taste better.

Family is right on,I'll help you when ever you need it ,but you got to get in the groove. It is an easy deal and a big part of the hunting deal.Your dad gutted your first deer but you had to do the rest.Same deal with the Butcher, just do it. Upper
