I will be deer hunting for the first time this year. ###Put in for and drew X1. ###Looking for recommendations on hunting in that zone. ###Any thoughts?

I'd suggest south of Medicine lake. ###You might even want to try the north end of the zone especially if we have weather. ###Hit me with an email for more info.

If you try off of highway 139 out of Canby, you'll do really well, least i always have when i draw for that area.Email if you want and we can talk about a couple of other good areas. You see i live in X3-b and X-1 is usually my 2nd choice.

try the lava beds around lava campground there are good deer from webb circle to mosquito lake. Get out and walk. It's a dry year up there but there are lots of guzzelers that have been put in out there hunt around them,

The last couple of times I hunted X1 we camped by Lost Spring to the west of Medicine Lake between Tyhoon Mesa and Fisk Ridge. ###There are some "tree farms" close by that get hunted by the people who like easy walking. ###They do pretty well there. ###I like to pick one of the saddles above the tree farms and wait for the others to push the deer out of the tree farms up to me.

I have also done well in the flats below Black Fox Mt. on both sides of Edson Crk. ###About five years ago we got a 27" and a 25" there on the same morning about a mile apart.

X1 has always been my second choice on the draw.
